Traveling & Traffic
In the event of a pandemic, it is important to respect the travel advice that applies within the generic measures at that time. Testing prior to the trip, or traveling with one's own group, reduces the chance of infection and thus the spread of the virus.
Current rules (dated May 1, 2022)
- At the moment, there are no further requirements or restrictive measures with regard to traveling/traffic, but there is a mandatory use of a face mask at the airport/in the plane.
Tips for organizers>
Execution
- Make use of time slots. This spreads the arrival and thus also the travel movements of your visitors.
- By 'sending' the public to arrive in time slots via the communication tools (app/email/etc.) in use, you spread the crowds. With this you also play an active role in preventing peak traffic in transport.
- For the layout and distribution of the time slots, allow a maximum of 1.5 hours until the start of the event. Research by Fieldlab Events has shown that people do not want to wait longer than 1.5 hours for the start of the event.
- In addition, the health check, also known as triage questions, has a dampening effect on travel movements. If you have symptoms, you are asked to stay at home (moral appeal).
- If 1G or 3G is involved, make sure visitors test as close to home as possible. This way you prevent infected people from traveling.
Tips for licensing authorities>
It is important to bear in mind that the transport of people is not the responsibility of the organizer, but of the respective transport companies. The organizer can take a number of measures to prevent peak crowds.
Points of attention
- Does the organizer use staggered arrivals in time slots?
- Does the organizer use the health check? And if so, is it carried out in the manner recommended by CKVE?
- In the case of Testing for Entry, does the organizer ensure through communication that people test as close to home as possible?
