Health Check
The purpose of the health check (also known as triage questions) is to have the visitor identify whether there are COVID-19-related circumstances that make a visit inadvisable prior to visiting an event.
Current rules (dated May 1, 2022)
- Organizers are no longer obliged to ask visitors to do a health check. This is discussed in the subject 'registration'.
How does the health check work?>
The most current questions as they should be asked in the health check can be found on the RIVM website.
Research by Fieldlab Events has shown that the best results are achieved if the health check is performed four hours in advance. They then serve as an active reminder for visitors and employees.
Asking the questions at the entrance of the event is counterproductive. It causes longer queues, which actually results in more contact moments.
Tips for organizers>
Sending the health check
- Use the existing communication channels (sms / whatsapp / mail / eventapp) to send the health check to your visitors.
- If you can send a timed message, do it four hours in advance. If that doesn't work, send it a day in advance.
- Refer to the questions of the health check or include them in your own house style.
Received data
- Do not save the answers (not even anonymised), as this concerns medical data.
- Think about a policy if visitors unsubscribe based on the health check (money back or not, tickets for next year).

Points of attention
- Is the organizer using the correct version of the current health check?
- What means does the organizer use to ask the questions?
- Does the organizer reach all visitors to the event (directly or indirectly, can also reach an entire group via the ticket buyer)?
